NestBoard is a private organizer for one household. Kids use it inside a family that a parent creates and controls, with no contact from anyone outside it. Here is exactly how that works.
NestBoard is a private family organizer: one shared calendar, chore, and meal hub for one household. A parent or guardian creates the household and invites the people in it.
It is designed for all ages within a family, with children participating under parent management. Kids check off chores, see their schedule, and earn points. Parents run everything.
Children do not sign up for NestBoard on their own. An adult creates each child profile from inside their own account and controls what that child is part of. Most children never need an email address or a login. They use NestBoard on a device the family already shares, like a kitchen tablet.
A parent can decide that an older child should be able to sign in on their own phone. The parent starts that by adding an email address for the child and sending an invite, and the child then chooses a password. A child cannot join a household any other way, and there is no way to find or join a family from outside it.
When an adult adds a child, they confirm they are that child's parent or guardian and consent to the data tied to that profile, and NestBoard records the date. On the Family page an adult can also mark a child as under 13, which turns that confirmation into a checkbox the profile will not save without. Everything in NestBoard stays inside your invited household. There are no public profiles, no way to discover or contact other users, and no messaging between households. A child cannot be contacted by anyone the parent did not invite.
The one optional cross-household surface is the National Leaderboard, which is off by default and can only be switched on by an adult in the household. If your household joins, its row shows three things: the team name you make up, a city and state, and a score. It never names anyone. Not your children, not the adults, not first names, not initials. It also never shows your real family name, your address, birthdays, photos, or any way to contact you, and nobody can reply to your household through it.
If you would rather share nothing at all, leave it off. It stays off unless an adult turns it on, and turning it back off removes your household from the rankings right away.
Robin is an AI helper for the family calendar, chores, and lists. It is for the grown-ups: a member with a child role cannot open it, and that is enforced on our servers rather than just hidden in the app. Robin also lives in one shared household conversation that adults can see, so there is no private one-on-one channel between a child and the AI.
Messages sent to Robin and Robin's replies both pass through automated content moderation, with stricter safeguards applied when a child is in the household. No moderation system is perfect, but Robin is built to stay on family topics and decline anything inappropriate.
Robin cannot browse the open web (its one outside lookup is a weather forecast), cannot contact anyone outside your household, and NestBoard never trains AI models on family data.
An optional child-safety PIN locks the grown-up areas, Subscription and Billing and gift Wish Lists, so kids on a shared tablet cannot wander into them.
Parents can set a daily screen-time allowance per child, and can link it to chores so finishing chores earns bonus minutes or unlocks the day's time. It is a shared family tracker, not device surveillance or remote locking.
Chores, points, allowance, and every member profile are managed by the adults in the household.
No ads, ever, to anyone. We never sell data, and we never use family data to train AI models. A child's profile holds only what their parent sets up, such as a name, a color, and their chores and schedule.
Parents can review, edit, and export their household data at any time, and can remove a child or delete the whole household. Removing a child deletes the records tied to them, and if that child had their own sign-in it removes that too, including their email address and password. Deleting the household deletes everything.
