What calendar subscription does
NestBoard can publish a private calendar link that works in Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar. Once you add it, your NestBoard family calendar appears right alongside your work and personal calendars in the app you already use.
The subscription is read-only. It shows your NestBoard events wherever you look, but it can never change or delete anything in your other calendar. The feed refreshes on its own, usually every few hours depending on which calendar app you use.
This is different from calendar sync. Sync pulls outside calendars into NestBoard. Subscription pushes NestBoard events out to the calendar app you already open every morning.
How to set it up
Open Settings and tap Calendar subscription. You will see a private calendar link. Copy it, or tap Add to calendar app to open it directly.
In Apple Calendar, tap Add to calendar app, or use File, then New Calendar Subscription, and paste the link.
In Google Calendar, go to Other calendars, then From URL, and paste the link.
In Outlook, choose Add calendar, then Subscribe from web, and paste the link.
The calendar appears under the name NestBoard calendar, not your household's name.
What shows up and what does not
Every event in your NestBoard calendar flows into the subscription feed, except events marked adults-only. Those are left out entirely, for everyone, because the subscription link works at the household level rather than per person. You can always see adults-only events in NestBoard itself.
Chores, medications, and routines do not appear in the subscription feed. Only calendar events make the trip.
When to use it
Calendar subscription is useful if you keep one calendar open all day and want your family's plans right there. A work Outlook calendar that also shows soccer practice and piano lessons. A personal Google Calendar that includes the babysitter's schedule. An Apple Calendar that reminds you when the school assembly starts.
It is also the simplest way to get NestBoard events onto a device that does not run the app. An older laptop, a locked-down work computer, or a smartwatch that pulls from your phone's calendar.

The link is private
Only share the subscription link with people you want to see your family calendar. If a link ever gets out, tap Reset link on the same screen. That creates a brand new link and the old one stops working right away.
Where to find it
On a phone, tap More in the bottom bar, then Settings. On a computer or tablet, click Settings in the left sidebar. The Calendar subscription section is near the top.
