Why shared bottles matter
Two adults taking the same daily vitamin. A couple sharing a magnesium supplement at night. A caregiver and an elderly parent both on the same probiotic.
When more than one person pulls from the same physical bottle, creating two separate medications in your tracker makes the supply count wrong. Each person logs their dose, but the app thinks there are two bottles, so the refill warning arrives way too late.
NestBoard handles this with shared bottles. One medication, one supply count, multiple people taking from it. Whenever anyone logs a dose, the doses remaining goes down by one.
Two ways to set up a shared bottle
The first way is to add or edit a medication and use the "Share this bottle with" field. Pick each additional household member who takes from the same bottle.
The second way is to tap "+ Add person" on an existing medication card. This opens a small window that only asks who and when, their schedule. The bottle details like name, dosage, form, and doses-per-bottle are already set, so the new person inherits them.
Either route gets you to the same place. The bottle is shared, and the supply tracking applies to everyone.
How dose logging works with a shared bottle
When a dose is due for anyone on that bottle, the card and the Today's doses panel show a "Log dose" button. Tap it, confirm the time, and optionally note who gave or took the dose.
The moment you mark it given, doses remaining drops by one. It does not matter which person's dose you logged. The count is shared, so the supply math stays accurate.
Dose reminders also reach the people sharing the bottle, so whoever is helping that day gets the nudge. If you are the one home at bedtime, you see the reminder. If your partner is, they do.
When to use this
Shared bottles are for households where the bottle itself is shared. Two adults on the same daily supplement. A couple splitting a bottle of melatonin. A parent and teenager both taking the same allergy med during pollen season.
If each person has their own bottle, even of the same supplement, set them up as separate medications. That way each bottle tracks its own supply and you get individual refill warnings.

Where to find it
On a phone, tap More in the bottom bar, then Medical. On a computer or tablet, in the left sidebar, look under Life and click Medical. If Medical is not in your sidebar, it is switched off for your account under Settings, then Menu Visibility.
